Herz boilers pass the Ofgem RHI test

Herz boilers pass the Ofgem RHI test
We are pleased to announce Rural Energy’s market-leading, cutting-edge boilers are among the first in the UK to pass vital emission tests set by the energy watchdog Ofgem.

Our Herz range, including the Herz Pelletstar, Firematic, BioMatic and BioFire boilers, now have Ofgem’s Renewable Heat Incentive Energy Performance Certificate – which means they qualify for the Government’s green energy cash boost.

Biomass boilers that don’t have the certificate or an environmental permit will not qualify for the Renewable Heat Incentive Government payback.

The awarding of the certificates highlights the quality of the Herz boilers and the fact Rural Energy continues to lead the UK biomass market, says managing director Paul Clark.

Mr Clark explained why the certification is so important to organisations and companies looking to install biomass systems to dramatically reduce their energy bills.

He said: “Anyone who has applied for the Renewable Heat Incentive since September 24th 2013 must have a commissioned boiler with either a Renewable Heat Incentive Energy Performance Certificate or an environmental permit.

“The purpose of this requirement is to ensure responsible biomass boiler use and that emissions do not exceed a level set by the Government. Biomass boilers that do not have an RHI emission certificate or an environmental permit will be ineligible for the Renewable Heat Incentive.”

Rural Energy states the air quality requirements apply to boiler owners if they are applying for the RHI on or after September 24th, 2013.

If any participants in the RHI before that date then apply for additional capacity for their boiler after it, the boiler’s additional capacity will also need to meet the air quality requirements. However, if owners received preliminary or have passed accreditation before September 24, their boiler will not need to comply with these regulations.
