Stand Alone Boiler Houses & Chip Stores

Stand alone boiler house / fuel store

With the increased reliability and reduced costs of district heating pipe the boiler no longer needs to be adjacent to the heat demand.

A centralised biomass boiler plant is often the most cost effective method of heating multiple buildings, if lifetime costs are considered. Savings on fuel alone can rapidly offset the initial capital outlay. In addition, a single centralised boiler reduces the overall maintenance requirement and saves valuable space within individual buildings.

Biomass systems can easily be integrated with fossil fuel systems to automatically provide peak loading or as a ‘backup’ for added security.

Fuel Delivery to Alma House Business Park

Rural Energy has developed several designs for stand alone boiler house and fuel store structures. Direct tipping access is enabled by hydraulically lifting roof sections.

The construction is modular and can be assembled in a matter of days keeping costs down and minimising on-site disruption

Sinking the whole structure into the ground increase fuel storage space and extends time between deliveries.

A change in level between the boiler house and fuel store is an optional feature which simplifies auger transport and further maximises fuel storage. (Schematics are available below)

Inside fuel store

To complement our range of standalone structures, Rural Energy can undertake detailed district heat network designs and supply district heat pipe and fittings to suit customer requirements, from a single pipe run to a complex system with multiple entry points requiring heat metering solutions.
